Arduino-controlled, Individually Addressable 8x8 Led Matrix
Date
April 2020
This project involved the complete design and fabrication of an Arduino-controlled 8×8 individually addressable RGB LED matrix. The electronics, enclosure, assembly, and firmware were all developed from scratch, resulting in a fully custom interactive display.
The hand-soldered electronics integrate an Arduino microcontroller, push buttons, status LEDs, a brightness control potentiometer, a USB programming port, and a power switch. Audio input and output ports were also included, allowing the matrix to be programmed for music-reactive effects while preserving the audio signal through a pass-through connection.
The enclosure was handcrafted from wood and finished in white paint, showcasing skills in embedded programming, electronics design, manual assembly, and functional product development.
